Albion
I had a great time going here. They play Goth/EBM-related music, and are there every Friday night. They mostly have a DJ, and occasionally a live band plays. I met one of my great friends dancing here, and a couple other people. There are lots of interesting people there, and good music to dance to.

Arizona Renaissance Festival
I grew up in this Renaissance Faire (a town known as Fairhaven), among others. I've seen all the shows countless times, and been all around the Faire in general. I highly recommend, if you are ever in the area, that you go. The shows are mostly comedic, and there is also Jousting (watching people stab each other off of horses is always fun), Dancing, etc. All people who work there are in character, and some visitors (Rennies) also choose to do so. The Faire is essentially a theme park, and there is much to do- from shows and rides to shopping. Just go.

AthFest
AthFest is only annual, but when it does happen a lot of people gather, of all ages, whether they participate in the activities (such as sculpting/other art-making, kids' stations, etc.), work at them, or just hang out and listen to the live local bands play. It's generally a fun place to go with your friends.

Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center
I've gone here twice- once to see a Cabaret, and once very recently to see a showing of the play "Wicked" (based on a great book of the same name.) While it's really a place to go for a specific reason, I recommend maybe checking out their upcoming shows, as they host a lot of plays, musicals, concerts, etc. The two times I've been there I had a lot of fun.

The French Quarter
I had much fun wandering around this neighborhood with my friend Marcus when we paid a visit to New Orleans. We spent nearly a week here and there was no shortage of art, music, food, merriment, etc. If you find yourself in the area, you ought to stop by.

The Transmetropolitan
Downstairs has pretty good Italian food which is pretty cheap. Good place to go out to eat casually with friends or such. Upstairs is a bar which plays recorded music (no DJ.) On Tuesday nights, there are casino salsa lessons upstairs, and the space is also available for rent for parties or the like. Overall it's a pretty cool place, though if you're looking for something with more dancing and a DJ, a better place to go might be Tasty World. (just around the corner and down the street from the Transmet.)
