The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of visual communications for all marketing, advertising, promotional and content-based initiatives of MPI at both the Headquarters and Chapter levels through various print, digital and web applications. The Senior Graphic Designer`s primary focus will be the strategic conceptual development and creative execution of MPI`s promotional campaigns, research and editorial-based content, magazine layout, event-based promotion and on-site designs, and web-based and e-communication designs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. ¬Plans, develops and designs projects from concept to final release, starting with creative and marketing briefs and developing design solutions based on the strategic business objectives supporting the project. Works closely with the Creative Director to ensure the strategic nature of the design work meets MPI`s business goals and MPI`s members` needs. 2. Confer with internal clients to understand needs, deadlines, and budgetary concerns, as well as determining the most effective ways of creating design solutions. Also assists in coordinating printing specifications and any paper or bindery issues, and coordinating with IT team for web implementation. 3. Manages production cycles by working with reviewers and maintaining required approvals. 4. Proactively works with marketing to ensure adherence to MPI`s values and branding standards guidelines. EXPERIENCE ? Six or more years experience in professional graphic design, including print, web design, html-based e-communications, and CMS applications. ? Three or more years experience working with marketing and communications, agencies, and/or design firms. EDUCATION ? Bachelors Degree required with a Design/Visual communications focus. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ? Technical skills - professional design software including Macintosh platform, Adobe Creative Suite 4.0 (minimum), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). HTML and CSS experience is a huge plus. ? Presentation and communication skills -- comfortably delivers presentations to all levels of the organization utilizing a variety of technology. Must be able to communicate strategic design ideas visually, verbally, and in writing. ?
